AFF 2010 Champs......!

Over the weekend, my ex school mates called me up to play futsal at Subang. And today, it just crossed my mind that we were talking so much about the Malaysia AFF football team  that won the cup. Everyone was proud of them! And we think these three players from the Malaysia team deserves a salutation........!

The 1st
Khairul at the airport after the game

Name: Khairul Fahmi Che Mat

DOB: 7 January 1989
Position: Goalkeeper
Currently playing: - Malaysia National Squad
                          - Kelantan FA
Achievement:  Part of the Kelantan's 2010 Malaysia Cup winning team
The Best Young Player and Best Goalkeeper awards at the 2010 Anugerah
                     Bola Sepak Kebangsaan 100Plus-FAM.
My Review: He held a good line of cleansheets when Malaysia met with Thailand, Vietnam
and during the first leg of  the finals against Indonesia. His brilliant save when
Indonesia was awarded a penalty during  the second leg of finals proved vital
as it assisted Malaysia to go on winning the AFF Cup, thus proving
himself to one of the best players in 2010's Malaysia squad!

The 2nd
Shahrul in action against MU!

Name: Norshahrul Idlan Talaha
DOB: June 8, 1986
Position: Striker
Currently playing: - Malaysia National Squad
                          - Kelantan FA
Achievement: One of the Malaysia under 23 players that won the 2007 Merdeka Tournament
Part of the Kelantan's 2010 Malaysia Cup winning team
Best Forward and Most Valuable Player at the 2010 Anugerah Bola Sepak
                    Kebangsaan 100Plus-FAM
My review: Hats off to this guy for his excellent performance during the entire 2010 AFF
competition! Being able to always support his fellow striker, Sabre from the
left has made him a really good midfielder cum striker. During the finals,
Shahrul was an all-rounder running down to defense and all the up to the
                Indonesia's penalty spot.

The 3rd

Kunanlan celebrating with his teammates
Name: Kunanlan Subramaniam
DOB: August 22, 1986
Position: Midfeilder
Currently playing: - Malaysia National Squad
                          - Negeri Sembilan
Achievement: N/A
My review: His speed and dribbling abilities just makes me wonder.... Watching him
play in the first leg of the has made him earn our appraisal. I hope he
would continue to push has hard and win a place in a better league team!

Overall, the team and its manager did an excellent job!!!

Congrats to the 2010 AFF Cup

Malaysia towards towards a greener nation

After all the hype about emission free & hybrid vehicles, our very local car manufacturer, Proton has developed their very own Proton Emas. Nevertheless, they have put in much effort to create a car which is more of a green family car and less fuel consuming. This step taken has in a way has made car manufacturers to have a run for their money. Unveiled at the 80th International Motor Show in Geneva, the car was designed by Lotus Engineering with the platform of Nissan's V platform.

The powerplant of the concept car is a Lotus Range Extender Engine, which is a mix of electric & combustion engine(petrol or diesel). The car has a range of 50km on electric and once it dries up, the combustion engine will kick in. The engine is a very simple 1.2 liter 3 cylinder single cam engine with only 2 valves per cylinder. The electric motor will only need to be charged for 3hrs, and you're off again with a mileage of 50km. Its engine is located at the rear end while the battery is at the front which gives it a better weight distribution. A revised version has allowed enough room for five poeple sit inside comfortably.

Set to be released within another 18 mths, the Proton Emas would be a hit since petrol price is rocketing skyhigh recently. A lot of critics has given their verdict(mostly good ones). Let us keep our fingers crossed to hope the best out Proton on their latest concept, Proton Emas and make our first step to go green! And the name, EMAS, meaning “gold” in Malay, is the acronym for Eco Mobility Advanced Solutions.

Gold or the white one?
